The Steel Market Development Institute (SMDI), a business unit of the American Iron and Steel Institute, Detroit, MI, named Terry Cullum director of the Auto/ Steel Partnership (A/SP), replacing Dr. Roger Heimbuch. A/SP leverages the resources of North American automotive companies and sheet-steel producers to pursue research, validation and education common to both industries. Cullum was previously director of corporate responsibility, environment and energy for GM.

Thermadyne Industries, Inc., St. Louis, MO, appointed Matthew Proffit national accounts manager, and named Paul Eckhoff senior product line manager for manual plasma cutting products, marketed primarily under the company’s Thermal Dynamics brand. The firm manufactures cutting and welding equipment.

Steel King Industries, Inc., Stevens Point, WI, a manufacturer of pallet racks, AS/RS racks and other types of material-storage products, as well as guard railing and steel containers, hired Rich Hartzler as major products manager, and Katie Ekstrand as structural sales engineer.

McGregor Metalworking Companies, Springfield, OH, hired Rick Wagner as plant manager for its SC Metal Products facility in Aiken, SC. The facility operates three centers of excellence —metal stamping, split metal pulley production and robotic welding.

Maysteel LLC, Allenton, WI, a manufacturer of sheetmetal enclosures and other fabricated metal assemblies, named J. Monte Roach president and chief executive officer, Kevin Matkin vice president of operations, and Elizabeth Feldman chief financial officer.

Techni Waterjet, Lenexa, KS, promoted Dennis Schmidt to international service manager, Techni USA. He’ll supervise all of the firm’s service technicians worldwide, and head up customer support and service operations.

Atlas Technologies, Fenton, MI, announced several changes to its management structure, including rehiring William Rogner as interim general manager, joining Randy Austin, vice president of applications, and Louis Weigele, human resources and purchasing manager. Robert Stonier returns as project manager, Charles Rheingans returns as regional sales manager for China, and Lesa Jemison returns as director of marketing and e-commerce. The firm also promoted Kim Nation to controller and Brenda Crampton to director of mechanical engineering.
