Visual Knowledge Share Ltd. (VKS) a provider of digital work-instruction software, is launching its newest product in connected-worker technology: I/O Connect. This VKS add-on enables workers to activate and monitor devices, machines, PLCs and other key parts of the manufacturing environment directly from their work instructions.
VKS I/O Connect enables work instructions to serve as a digital middleman between machines and the workforce. After workers complete their guided tasks, VKS sends a confirmation to connected machines and devices to move the process to the next step and initiate the automated process. This ensures that all activities are executed according to specifications while streamlining employee interaction, according to company officials.
VKS I/O Connect enables workers to collaborate with machines/devices such as PLCs, pick-to-light sensors, vision systems, cobots and integrated workflows with machining centers. At the same time, I/O Connect allows organizations to gain greater insight and control over their processes, explain VKS officials, as every interaction with the manufacturing environment is an opportunity for VKS and manufacturers to boost performance, collect data and develop keen strategies.
