OSHA Publishes Guidance on Preparing Workplaces for COVID-19

This 32-page online resource from the U.S. Department of Labor and OSHA, OSHA 3990-03 2020, contains recommendations as well as descriptions of mandatory safety and health standards as they relate to COVID-19 (the coronavirus). Among its contents: How a COVID-19 outbreak could affect workplaces; Steps all employers can take to reduce workers’ risk of exposure to SARS-CoV-2; and Advice for workers living abroad of travelling internationally. “The recommendations are advisory in nature, informational in content, and are intended to assist employers in providing a safe and healthful workplace,” notes the overview. “This guidance is not a standard or regulation, and it creates no new legal obligations.”
