Machine Safety Management Awarded for Safety Software

Friday, July 10, 2015
Machine Safety Management Corp. (MSM), Minneapolis, MN, has received the 2015 Award for Innovation in Occupational Safety Management from the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE). The award honors companies that bring innovation and creativity to managing safety in the workplace.
MSM received the honor for its Machine Safety Management software product designed to help improve machine safety, reduce accidents, and maintain compliance with applicable standards and regulations. The software provides organizations with the tools necessary to maintain up-to-date machine-safety audit records for internal and OSHA compliance.
Launched in 2011, the cloud-based software enables organizations to conduct, store and manage machine-safety audits, risk assessments and machine information; helping to reduce machine-related injuries, OSHA citations and fines. A central information repository gives safety managers an accurate, detailed view of the entire organization’s machine-safety compliance.

AWS Introduces Online Career-Management Tool

Wednesday, July 8, 2015
The American Welding Society (AWS) has launched AWS WeldLink, a career planning and management system, to bring together individuals, businesses and schools in the welding industry.

AWS WeldLink is designed to address professional welder development, allowing users to create an online profile to aid in mapping their current skills and knowledge by tracking certifications, education and work history. The system then uses that information to match users with welding career paths, locate welding programs and directly enroll in training programs through AWS Learning, AWS’s online education program. Users also can view open positions in welding companies with direct connections to apply.

Businesses can create their own WeldLink profiles to identify and recruit individuals with the right skills, post job listings, and stay on top of welding-technology advances. Academic institutions can create profiles to access welding education resources, recruit students and help those students find employment.

AWS WeldLink is available to all AWS members as well as the welding community. For more, visit
