Stewart EFI Connecticut Achieves IATF 16949:2016 Certification

Stewart EFI, LLC, announced that Stewart EFI Connecticut, LLC, Thomaston, CT, achieved upgrade certification to the automotive industry’s new quality standard, IATF 16949: 2016, in addition to recertification under the ISO9001: 2015 Quality Standard. It joins Stewart EFI Finishing LLC, El Paso, TX, in obtaining this certification. Both were previously certified to the technical specification ISO/TS 61949: 2009. In 2016, the IATF (International Automotive Task Group) announced an upgrade to their technical specification. The revised IATF standard replaces the ISO/TS 16949 technical specification.

BLM Group USA Commits to Workshop for Warriors

BLM Group USA, Novi, MI, provider of tube and sheetmetal processing solutions, announced its corporate involvement with Workshop for Warriors, a nonprofit school that trains, certifies, and helps place Veterans, Wounded Warriors, and Transitioning Service Members into advanced manufacturing careers such as welding, CAD/CAM programming and machining. BLM has committed to sponsoring a student who is currently enrolled in the “Machining for Warriors” program, with the intent to hire that individual as a field service technician upon course completion.
