La-Z-Boy Takes Delivery of Feed Lines from Dallas Industries

Tuesday, December 19, 2017
Dallas Industries, Troy, MI, a manufacturer of coil-handling, press-feeding equipment and controls for the stamping industry has announced that the La-Z-Boy facility in Neosho, MO, has taken delivery on two feed lines. One line is a 36-in.wide conventional line featuring model DRF-536 cabinet mounted servo-feed, threading table, model DPS-3.5-36-7 powered straightener and a 20,000-lb. load capacity reel with load car. The second line is an 18-in. wide conventional feed line featuring La-Z-Boy’s existing model DRF-418 cabinet mounted servo feed (with a new controls retro-fit), threading table, model DPS-3-18-7 powered straightener and a 6000-lb. load capacity reel.

Both lines were built on an Allen-Bradley, Ethernet-based control architecture and feature SyncLoop and ProfileSelect™. SyncLoop controls synchronize the feeder and straightener speeds to enhance the slack loop’s stability and control. ProfileSelect is a unique feed control system and a Dallas Industries exclusive. It uses a cam-motion (sinusoidal) profile for a feed motion that utilizes 100 percent of the press feed window, reducing stress on the material and the feed’s mechanical components.
