Aida-America, Qualtek Announce Leadership Changes

Friday, November 4, 2016

Aida-America, Dayton, OH, and Qualtek Manufacturing Inc., Colorado Springs, CO, are jointly announcing leadership changes within their respective organizations. Troy Roberts, current president and chief operating officer of Aida-America, will be transitioning to the position of chief executive officer at Qualtek Manufacturing, effective December 1st, 2016. Roberts’ decision was prompted by the opportunity at Qualtek and his strong desire to be closer to family, according to Aida-America officials. In his new role, Roberts will oversee Qualtek, a stamping, heattreating and metal-finishing supplier to aerospace, medical-device and automotive manufacturers. Pat Ambuske, Aida-America’s current vice president of operations, will succeed Roberts as president and CEO. Ambuske joined the press-system supplier in 2001 and has held various leadership roles in planning, engineering, purchasing and manufacturing functions.

Italian Auto Supplier Orders Second Press-Hardening Line

Tuesday, November 1, 2016

Italian automotive-part manufacturer U.form has placed an order for its second press-hardening line from AP&T due to increased demand for lighter and stronger vehicle parts from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, which already has five press-hardening lines from AP&T.

U.form’s first press-hardening line, featuring a 1200-ton Oden press, furnace, automation equipment and control systems, was installed in October 2015 and is being used for the production of A- and B-pillars as well as other reinforcement parts for Alfa Giulia and Maserati Levante. When production of Alfa Romeo's new models, with a significantly larger percentage of press-hardened parts, begins at the end of 2016, scaling up of production is expected, which has led to the order for the second line.
