AMT Partners to Launch Additive-Manufacturing Award Competition

AMT—The Association for Manufacturing Technology has joined forces with the German machine-tool builders’ association VDW to launch the International Additive Manufacturing (AM) Award competition. The award seeks to recognize innovation in AM-related design, processes, materials, applications and data generation. The winner will receive a $20,000 cash prize, with the award to be presented at The MFG Meeting, March 4-7, 2015, in Orlando, FL.  Learn more at

Inteva Named One of Americas Safest Companies

Inteva Products, Troy, MI,  a manufacturer of automotive closure systems, interiors, motors and electronics, and roof systems, has been named one of 2014 America’s Safest Companies for its North American and South American-based facilities. Inteva is one of only two automotive companies among this year’s 16 honorees. The annual list of safest companies is published by EHS Today magazine, recognizing companies that demonstrate “support from management and employee involvement; innovative solutions to safety challenges; injury and illness rates lower than the average for their industries; comprehensive training programs; evidence that prevention of incidents is the cornerstone of the safety process; good communication about the value of safety; and a way to substantiate the benefits of the safety process.

Camfil Air Pollution Control (APC), Jonesboro, AR, a manufacturer of dust-, fume- and mist-collection equipment, appointed Alan O’Connell executive vice president in charge of worldwide operations. He previously served as president and CEO of Camfil APC’s parent company, the Camfil Group, Stockholm, Sweden.

Trumpf Inc., Farmington, CT, promoted James Rogowski from director of machine and power tool products to vice president, technical service. He also has served the company, a manufacturer of sheetmetal-fabricating machinery and industrial lasers, as managing director of Trumpf Canada.
