Online manufacturing marketplace has launched a competitive-analysis software application, ShopIQ, designed to help suppliers and manufacturers benchmark their bids against quotes from competitors. The goal is to eliminate labor-intensive manual data reviews and deliver real-time analyses across dimensions such as manufacturing process, geographical region, material and shop certification, according to site officials. With the app, available to paid subscribers of, manufacturers and suppliers have the ability to zero in on the jobs they are more likely to be awarded and offer bids more reflective of the marketplace.

With ShopIQ, suppliers and manufacturers can identify their ideal customer acquisition strategies, better gauge quotes on which to bid and determine optimal pricing.

End-Machining Center and CNC Saws to Tube Fabrication Industries

Offering equipment for tube and sheet processing, BLM Group USA ( recently sold a BC80 CNC end-machining center and a CM602 automatic CNC sawing machine to Tube Fabrication Industries, Logansport, IN. Tube Fabrication Industries offers a core capability in the fabrication of precision aluminum and carbon-steel tubing/tubular components for automotive anti-vibration devices.

The BC80 is ideal for cut-to-length, chamfering, facing and part measurement for continuous production of bushings. The unit provides in-process part measurement and 100-percent part-length inspection with detailed SPC reporting. The CM602 is ideal for cutting short and medium-length steel, copper, brass and aluminum tubes, solid bars and profiles. It can handle tube and bar to 4 in. dia. depending on material, and cuts at speeds to 5000 rpm.

Bystronic Mexico Opens Monterrey Headquarters

Bystronic Mexico has celebrated the grand opening of its Monterrey, Mexico, headquarters, a two-floor facility with main office, training area, machine-demonstration showroom, and spare-parts and machine-logistics warehouse.

The new location in Monterrey provides excellent logistics resources, and is better positioned to serve the rest of the country with services and deliveries, according to company officials. In addition to being the company’s customer-service and spare-parts hub, the facility also is home to Bystronic Mexico sales and training operations. The showroom will be equipped to provide live product demonstrations for Bystronic’s laser-cutting and press-brake bending equipment, as well as the BySoft 7 suite of software. Onsite classrooms will offer hands-on training and both standard and customized courses for programmers, machine operators and maintenance personnel.
