Hilco Global Seeks Buyer for MI Steel Processor

Hilco Global (www.hilcoglobal.com), Northbrook, IL, announced that it has purchased a steel-processing facility located at the Lee Steel Corp. site in Romulus, MI. The deal, approved in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, includes a 200,000-sq.-ft. plant and all of the steel-processing equipment located at that site.
“Hilco Global is planning to run an aggressive marketing and sale process to find a buyer for this state-of-the-art steel-processing complex,” says Ben Nortman, executive vice president.
Lee Steel had been processing and selling steel products since 1947. Prior to bankruptcy, it had invested heavily in expansion and equipment.

JMT USA (www.jmtusa.com), Salt Lake City, UT, a provider of machine tools such as press brakes, plate rolls and fiber lasers to the fabrication industry, recently added to its sales staff. Jerry Donahue joins JMT as Northeastern regional sales manager; Steve Tillinghast as regional sales manager for Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky; and Alan Hamilton as Western regional sales manager.

Metalformer Introduces 24-Hr. Prototyping Service

Bermo Inc., Minneapolis, MN, has launched 24-hr. prototyping in response to customers’ needs for quick and accurate parts built within a just-in-time environment, according to company officials. In introducing the service, the company has provided a simple pricing and ordering method where users can choose from a three-tier structure, depending on the operations required.
Bermo, a privately owned and operated manufacturer founded in 1947, specializes in metal fabricating, stamping, welding and assembly. Its 300,000-sq.-ft. facility operates three shifts, five days per week, and staffs more than 250 employees.
