Yaskawa America, Inc.’s Motoman Robotics Division, Miamisburg, OH, was selected by Honda to receive a Special Recognition award. Honda honored the company along with other suppliers that provide indirect products and services to Honda automotive plants in Indiana and Ohio.
Steve Barhorst, Yaskawa Motoman president and chief operating officer, accepted the honors on the company’s behalf during a recent ceremony held at the Honda Heritage Center in Marysville, OH.
"Indirect suppliers support nearly every aspect of our business,” said Tom Lake, vice president of North American Purchasing at Honda North America, Inc., in presenting the awards. “The suppliers recognized have truly gone above and beyond, providing extraordinary support to Honda in 2014. Spanish Press Company Joins Nidec Minster

Monday, October 19, 2015
Arisa S.A. of Logrono, Spain, which manufactures lines of mechanical and servo presses along with related coil-line automation systems and technical services, is now a Nidec Group company, announced Nidec Minster Corp. CEO David Winch. The Minster Group will manage and integrate the skills, synergies and assets of Arisa S.A. into a broader global product offering.
Founded in 1940 and with approximately 113 employees, Arisa has presses and related machinery operating on five different continents. The company will maintain local production and management in Spain.
“This acquisition provides Minster with a larger and more competitive global footprint in the machinery, automation and services marketplace,” says Winch. “Arisa’s products are a good fit for us since there is little overlap with Nidec Minster’s products. Arisa’s customer base and market has been with the European automotive community’s Tier One and Two suppliers.”
The addition of Arisa will provide Minster with production capability in Europe in addition to the United States and China.
