An Up-Close Look at BLM Group's LS5 Fiber Laser Cutting System

Culminating more than 20 years’ worth of flat processing technologies, this new LS5 cutting machine comes in various configurations including 5 by 10 ft., 6 by 12 ft., all the way up to a maximum of 6 by 20 ft., with power ratings to 12 kW. Selling points include the moveable control console; wide access doors; the Precitec Procutting head that offers beam magnification; and a protective window over the optics, with sensors that monitor the window’s temperature and condition. Also available: an 18-station nozzle changer (with built-in nozzle-condition monitoring) to run any material type or thickness; and a laser tube with bundle loader for cutting square tubes to 4 in. and round tubes to 4.7-in. dia.
