Aida-America Fortifies its Engineering and Project-Management Teams

Metal stamping-press manufacturer Aida-America, Dayton, OH, has hired several new employees in the areas of assembly, paint prep and tooling. Nate Ferguson was hired as installation supervisor, bringing to Aida many years of experience installing, upgrading, troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, including those on metal stamping presses. In addition to overseeing electrical assemblers, riggers, subcontractors and auxiliary-equipment installers during press installations, he also conducts customer training.

Dean Sherman joins Aida as engineering administrator, bringing more than seven years of experience as a manufacturing engineer, as well as in quality control, to his new position. He’ll manage the release of engineering drawings and changes as required, to meet engineering and production schedules.

Newly hired to the Aida engineering team is mechanical engineer Guna Murugan, who brings to Aida three years of experience designing new products and machine components within the manufacturing sector. In his new position, he’ll conduct mechanical-engineering analyses, perform calculations and prepare designs for customer projects.

Kevin Ho recently was hired as project manager, bringing more than four years of mechanical-engineering experience working with metal stamping presses, including serving as lead project engineer for new-model stamping tooling. He will be a single, dedicated point of contact to coordinate with internal departments and external vendors throughout the life of each assigned customer press project.

And, Dan Savoy recently was hired as mechanical service technician at Aida Canada. A licensed machinist and millwright with 26 years of stamping-press repair and installation experience, he will install, maintain and repair Aida presses, perform inspections and help educate customers on appropriate maintenance and repairs.
