Greenerd Press and Machine Co. highlights its extensive hydraulic press and automation capabilities, with application experts and design engineers available to discuss specific user applications and press requirements.

The company designs and builds custom hydraulic presses with automation solutions for a range of industries and applications. An example up for discussion at FABTECH, a unique, complex multi-station press system (pictured) with varying tonnage capabilities via three rams. Greenerd designed, engineered and built this automated press system, which manufactures aluminum electrical splices at a rate of 60 parts/min. The system feeds coiled aluminum through a straightening and shearing process controlling the weight of slugs, which then are fed up an inclined custom Greenerd-designed conveyor and diverter, separating the slugs into lanes for increased throughput. In total, the system performs multiple operations from straightening and shearing to dimpling, hole formation, chamfering and grooving via a custom servo-driven shuttle system.

"To meet our customers’ demands for higher levels of manufacturing productivity and system-verified output quality, Greenerd is providing increasingly advanced production cells which deliver substantially increased throughput and higher levels of quality," says Jerry Letendre, Greenerd chairman. “To further support the implementation of our customers’ major production-line projects, we routinely provide our customers with fully integrated, turnkey and state-of-the-art robotic and other product-movement solutions.”
