Aida-America demonstrates a 300-ton straightside servo press in action. The two-point, direct-drive DSF-N2-AB-series servo press is part of a full progressive-die production line stamping parts in partnership with Dallas Industries, Pax Products, Inc., Roemheld and Tower Metalworking Fluids. The DSF-N2-3000AB press features Aida’s exclusive Allen-Bradley servo control system. Locally developed, manufactured and supported by a team of Aida controls engineers based in Dayton, OH, standard control-system features include Allen-Bradley GuardLogix; user friendly, swing-arm-mounted 12-in. color-touchscreen HMI; optical run buttons for ease of use; and hand-held step-feed (CNC handwheel) slide-motion control for reduced setup time.
As with all Aida servo presses, the DSF-N2-3000AB press includes an Aida-designed and -built low-speed, high-torque servo motor specifically manufactured for stamping-press applications. It combines the rigidity of a unitized frame with the flexibility of freely programmable servo motion. The DSF-N2-AB series of presses is offered in 200- and 300-ton models. Additional standard series features include NEMA 13-rated floor-standing cabinets with flexible placement options; pneumatic safety brake integrated with safety controller for additional, redundant layer of safety; full-length, six-point slide-guide system, easily set to maintain slide-to-bolster parallelism; and recirculating oil-lubrication system that provides clean oil in metered amounts to all bearing points.
