Scotchman Industries and Steelmax Tools Combine to Create SMX Industrial Solutions

Steel-fabrication equipment providers Scotchman Industries and Steelmax Tools have joined forces to form SMX Industrial Solutions group, with investment support provided by Emko Capital. The new company will leverage Scotchman’s and Steelmax’s existing product portfolios, internal technology development and additional acquisitions to offer a comprehensive and expanding portfolio of steel-fabrication tools and solutions.

Scotchman, based in Philip, SD, manufactures hydraulic ironworkers, cold saws and hydraulic presses.  Steelmax Tools, with operations in Colorado and Pennsylvania, supplies fabrication and welding-mechanization technology, including magnetic drills, plate and pipe bevellers, and trackless and track-mounted welding carriages.
