Members of the LIGHT project consortium will share their findings from a 2-yr. project on part design for metal additive manufacturing at a dissemination event at the Bloodhound SSC Technical Centre in Bristol, England, on April 26. With a mission to inspire new design freedoms and find new solutions for the additive manufacturing of lightweight metal parts, the LIGHT project, which is supported by Innovate UK,  aims to implement and validate CAD/CAM solutions for lightweight components being 3D printed from metal.  In particular, LIGHT has investigated the use of novel low-density lattice structures to support overhanging geometries, to prevent deformation during printing.

Here's a press release from #Delcam on the event.
