Schmalz Inc. Expands Raleigh, NC Headquarters

Schmalz Inc., a manufacturer of vacuum automation products, robotic end-of-arm vacuum gripper tools, material-handling vacuum lifters and CNC vacuum clamping tools, recently celebrated the completed warehouse and planned office expansion of its U.S. headquarters facility at in Raleigh, NC, with a ribbon-cutting attended by local political leaders and Schmalz president and CEO Dr. Volker Schmitz, managing directors Dr. Kurt Schmalz and Andreas Beutel, and head of global sales and marketing Thomas Lichtenberger.  The facility, completed in July 2016, was expanded in 2019 and 2021. The current assembly warehouse and office expansions are being completed in phases, with the offices slated for completion in early 2024. The warehouse expansion extends the footprint to 100,000 sq ft., with a Phase III expansion planned to add another 40,000 sq. ft. Upon its completion, the Schmalz U.S. headquarters will encompass a total of 140,000 sq. ft., helping to support the introduction of newly added product lines including collaborative-robot end-of-arm tools.
