United Performance Metals Expands Slitting/Edging Operations

United Performance Metals (UPM) has added a new edging line at its Hamilton, OH, headquarters and has boosted its slitting and edging capabilities at its West Coast branch in La Mirada, CA.

The Ohio headquarters installed the new edging equipment, while the existing Ohio edging line and 12-in. slitting equipment were transferred to the California branch. This allows for slitting and edging capabilities in both facilities.

“The additional edging capability in our West Coast facility complements the current slitting operations in that branch,” says J.J. Johnson, UPM director of operations. “Having edging capacity in multiple locations allows us to offer our customers shorter lead times and faster delivery, regardless of our customers’ geographic locations.”
