EV Battery-Storage-Manufacturing Plant Planned Near Grand Rapids, MI

Benteler Automotive, a Tier One supplier of battery-storage systems for electric vehicles (EVs) as well as other automotive components and assemblies, has plans to build a battery-components-assembly plant in the Grand Rapids, MI, suburb of Wyoming, according to MLive.com. The $105 million, 316,965-sq.-ft. facility, pending final Wyoming city approval, is expected to assemble battery components for the V801 Ford transit van and result in 170 jobs. With approval, construction is set to begin this fall on the former site of a GM stamping plant.
