Nearly $2B in Grants to OEMs Will Spark EV-Expansion Efforts
July 16, 2024CommentsMarkets Insider reports that the Biden administration will award nearly $2B in grants to General Motors, Stellantis and other automotive OEMs to help restart or expand electric-vehicle manufacturing and assembly sites in eight states. The Energy Department grants, totaling $1.7 billion, will fuel projects expected to create more than 2900 jobs and help ensure that some 15,000 union workers retain their jobs across 11 OEM facilities.
