Stainless-Steel Service Center Adds Fourth Waterjet-Cutting Machine

Penn Stainless Products, Inc., Quakertown, PA, has added a Flow Corp. Mach 3 waterjet-cutting system to its stable, capable of cutting sheet and plate to 78 by 288 in. The company’s fourth waterjet-cutting machine boasts a 94,000-psi pump that boosts cutting speed by as much as 45 percent compared to using conventional 60,000-psi pumps.
Flow equips the Mach 3 with its Dynamic Waterjet motion system that, say company officials, eliminates the inside corner washout and taper produced by conventional systems, by tilting the cutting head to the side and forward during cornering. Penn Stainless processes stainless-steel sheet, plate, bar, structural shapes and pipe and tubular products.
