Flex Machine Tools demonstrates a range of high-productivity manufacturing solutions for fabricators. For the first time at a major North American trade show, Flex has under power its automated waterjet cutting machine, the FlexJet Waterjet FL-0404. It features an Igems CNC control, CAD/CAM software and hardware including the advanced Tilter five-axis waterjet cutting head, Snapper camera for optimal positioning, Rounder kinematic-compensation tool and Straighter perpendicular-angle tool. This technology caters to the intricate needs of diverse materials and cutting requirements, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in waterjet cutting processes, according to company officials. .

Also under power at FABTECH, the long-bed FlexCNC G-series GM-20-06 vertical machining center, demonstrating heavy-duty, accurate high-speed cutting, milling, drilling and tapping of large parts, as well as machining of round and square tubes on its fourth axis. The FlexCNC features a customizable bed length from 10 to 80 ft., easily accommodating a range of long parts. The spindle moves, instead of the machine bed, permitting materials/parts of large weights and sizes. For optimal efficiency, a robust gantry-style machine architecture enables large-part machining in a single setup. And, a monobloc welded-steel frame with precision linear guideways provides a strong, rigid infrastructure that works in tandem with a comprehensive motion-control system.

Also demonstrated: a range of balancing-, drilling- and tapping-arm products.
