P&G and US Machine & Tool Form Strategic Partnership

Metal stamper U.S. Machine & Tool Co., Inc., Tyrone, GA, and manufacturer/fabricator P&G Steel Products Co., Buffalo, NY, have announced a strategic relationship to offer a single-source supply for the companies’ mutual customers. The agreement also includes P&G Steel’s sister company, P&G Metal Components, Bloomfield, CT, which supplies metal stampings, shot peening and surface finishing. The companies hope the partnership’s broadened geographical reach will allow them provide local supply options to multiple facilities for mutual customers, without the cost of expansion.

Exact to Sell Macola, JobBoss and Max Units into Combination with ECi

Exact Group BV, Delft, Netherlands, a developer of cloud business software for manufacturing and other industries, has agreed to sell its specialized solutions division, including Macola, JobBoss and Max, to private-equity investment group Funds Advised by Apax. Apax will combine the three ERP software units, each of which targets a specific sector of the manufacturing and distribution market, with ECi Software Solutions, Inc., Fort Worth, TX, a provider of business software for small- to medium-sized organizations.

The deal is expected to close within two months. Exact will continue to focus on growing its core global solution portfolio consisting of Exact Online, Exact Globe and Exact Synergy.

Lanzen Acquires Manufacturing Facility in MI

Lanzen Fabricating, Inc., Roseville, MI, a fabricator of assemblies and components for military applications, has acquired Demmer Corp.’s Petoskey, MI, manufacturing facility. The facility comes equipped with weld-fabrication, light assembly and production-machining capabilities, and will be Lanzen’s third plant in Michigan (joining Roseville and Mancelona).
