Hobart Advanced Al Welding and Design Program Set for October

Hobart Brothers Co., Troy, OH, will host an Advanced Welding and Design program as part of its Aluminum Welding Technology seminars. The three-day workshop will be held at the Miller Electric Mfg. Co. Training Center, Appleton, WI, October 18-20, 2016.

The program provides advanced technical and hands-on aluminum-welding training, and is geared toward design, welding and process engineers, and lead welding operators who work predominantly or exclusively with aluminum. Participants will receive the Hobart Guide for Aluminum welding, safety glasses, the use of a welding helmet and other personal safety equipment, and meals.

New Tulsa Facility for Alro Steel

Metals distributor Alro Steel has opened an 80,000-sq.-ft. facility in Tulsa, OK, replacing a 9000-sq.-ft. facility that the company had been operating in Tulsa. The larger footprint allows Alro to better support the local market with additional grades and sizes of aluminum, carbon, stainless, tool steel, copper, brass and bronze.

ISO 14001 Certification for Weiss-Aug

Weiss-Aug, a manufacturer of precision metal stampings, insert moldings and assemblies, has achieved ISO 14001 certification, recognizing that the East Hanover, NJ, company operates at high standards in controlling environmental risks associated with metal and the productions of stampings, inserts and molds.
In implementing an Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO 14001, Weiss-Aug has discovered areas where it could reduce energy usage and other resource expenditures to reduce environmental liability and risk, according to company officials.
