TDM Systems, Schaumburg, IL, has announced the appointment of David Morley as sales manager, North America. TDM Systems (www.tdmsystems.com) produces tool-management software and provides consulting services.

JMT USA, Salt Lake City, UT, a provider of machine tools to the metal-fabrication industry, has appointed two staff members to support the company’s laser products. Huge Horizontal Vacuum Furnace for Solar Atmospheres in PA

Solar Atmospheres of Western Pennsylvania, Hermitage, PA, announced that it will be installing a 48-ft. horizontal high-vacuum furnace, with the furnace engineered and manufactured by its sister company, Solar Manufacturing, Inc. The $8 million project includes furnace cost as well as a 20,000-sq.-ft. building addition and needed utility services.
This car-bottom type furnace, model HCB-84576-2EQ, will have a work zone measuring 7 ft. dia. by 48 ft. long and be capable of handling loads to 150,000 lb. at 2400 F. Dual U.S.-patented loading cars will load/unload from both ends of the furnace. The vacuum chamber, manufactured by Youngberg Industries, Inc., Rockford, IL, will incorporate three 48-in.-dia. vacuum ports as well as six 24-in.-dia. ports for gas cooling inlet and outlet. Autoclave-type locking doors are included at both ends of the furnace. Installation and testing is scheduled to complete in the first quarter of 2016.
Solar Atmospheres (www.solaratm.com), with four facilities located in Eastern and Western Pennsylvania, South Carolina and California, provides commercial heattreating and brazing services to an array of industries. Solar Manufacturing (www.solarmfg.com) specializes in the manufacture of new vacuum furnaces and also provides hot-zone replacements and aftermarket spare parts and service.

North American Stamping Group Installs Coil Line

Coe Press Equipment, Sterling Heights, MI, announced that it has recently installed a new press-feeding line at the North American Stamping Group (NASG) facility in Portland, TN. The facility produces stamped parts and welded assemblies for automotive and other industries. This line joins 10 other Coe lines already installed at various NASG locations.
The 72-in. line can process coil from 0.040 to 0.325 in. thick depending upon the width and steel strength. It features a 72-in. servo roll feed with a ServoMaster touch controller, a 72 in. by 14-ft. dual-threading table with a roller top, and a 50,000-lb.-capacity coil reel. The line also includes a Coe 406 powered straightener featuring ultrasonic variable-speed loop control with a three-position selector switch. Additionally, the system comes with perimeter guarding and safety controls. Coe also provided installation, startup and training for the lines.
