Unison Ltd. Commits to U.S. with Plans for New Factory in Virginia

Unison Ltd., North Yorkshire, England, announced plans to add its first United States factory in Danville, VA, to support the activities of its plant in North Yorkshire, England. Unison will invest $5.2 million to establish the factory. “Our plan includes the creation of 35 new jobs in the next 3 years,” says Julian Kidger, joint managing director of Unison. “It will be fantastic to label our machines as Made in America.”

TRUMPF Announces SPI Lasers Partnership

TRUMPF, Farmington, Conn., announced a limited sales partnership with SPI Lasers in order to provide TRUMPF customers with laser-material processing solutions across select North American market segments. SPI Lasers products are said to offer cost-optimized solutions due to flexible levels of integration for customers who do not need the full range of features available with TruControl, and TRUMPF’s other enabling technologies.

Industrial Fabricators Installs Flexible Cut-To-Length Line

Industrial Fabricators, Inc., Westerville, OH, a supplier of carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless metal fabrications and flat-rolled processing and metal distribution services has installed a 72-in x ½-in. Braner/Loopco Stretch Leveling Cut-to-Length Line in its 700,000 square feet Gastonia, NC, facility. The line has the ability to convert carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless coil in gauges from .060 in. (1.52mm) through .500 in. (12.7mm) with mechanical properties ranging to 125,000-psi (862 MPa) into high-quality memory-free sheet and plate products.
