MetalForming editorial director Brad Kuvin visits with Esau Gardner, general manager of the Martinrea facility in Springfield, TN, to discuss the plant's recent and significant expansion. Included is a look at its new 1000-ton eccentric-drive press, with a 5600 by 2650-mm bed and equipped with servo transfer system. Gardner explains the important role the press will play in handling hundreds of new tools and in meeting OEM-customer requirements, including those for EV platforms.
