Wiegel President/CEO Aaron Wiegel Talks Technology and Training, E718
July 30, 2024Comments
Aaron Wiegel discusses a two-pronged approach to continuing the growth of his metal stamping and tool and die company: technology and workforce development.
Aaron was born into manufacturing. His grandfather founded Wiegel Tool Works (WTW) in 1941, and Aaron started working at the comapny packaging parts while he was in grade school. Later he worked in multiple departments, before attending Purdue University to study Mechanical Engineering. He later transferred to Northern Illinois University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Technology.
Aaron officially joined WTW in January 2001 and over the years learned the ins and outs of the family business by working in every WTW department, on the shop floor and in the office. In 2010, Aaron became co-owner and president of WTW (recently renamed Wiegel). In partnership with his sister Erica and his brother Ryan, Aaron has grown the business, tripled revenues, grown production efficiency and capacity by investing in the latest technologies, built a highly-skilled and qualified team, marked the company's 75-yr.anniversary, and prepared the company for future growth.
