Detroit Free Press Covers Labor Shortage

Tuesday, January 15, 2019

A recent column in the Detroit Free Press cites a study from the Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation showing that manufacturing accounts for approximately one-third of the United States Gross Domestic Product, with each manufacturing employee generating another 3.4 workers elsewhere along the supply chain.

The column by Rick Haas, CEO of Mahindra Automotive North America, goes on to state that “over the next decade, nearly 4.6-million manufacturing jobs will need to be filled in the U.S.” and that “companies are in need of software developers, data scientists and engineers who can help continue to drive the digital revolution forward and sustain our country’s economic progress.”
