Specialty-Alloy Processor Adds Turret Head Slitter
November 1, 2013Comments United Performance Metals (UPM), Hamilton, OH, has added an 18-in. turret head slitter to its production facility, capable of slitting coiled stock from 0.020 to 0.125 in. thick. Compared to existing slitters, UPM expects the new machine to reduce setup times, increase line speeds and optimize operator efficiency. The slitter boasts a pressure bar system that eliminates scratching and minimizes camber, and an interchangeable rewind drum. UPM processes stainless-steel, nickel-, cobalt-, aluminum- and titanium-based alloys in sheet, coil, plate and bar.
