24-In.-Wide Press-Feed Line on Display

Formtek-Maine displays one of its 24-in.-wide CWP-brand CoilPak press-feed lines. The line, handling material to 0.125 in. wide and coils to 6500 lb., was sold through Seyi-America for Phoenix Stamping, Fort Worth, TX. The UL-compliant CoilPak system is comprised of a ServoMax feed, a threading table, and Formtek-Maine’s model-CRS combination stock reel and straightener. 

The ServoMax feed is equipped with 460/3/60 voltage, automatic central lubrication and an adjustable-height cabinet. The unit includes the company’s standard B&R control platform. The threading table supports the material strip across the looping area to ease threadup. In the lowered position, it acts as a barrier to guard the operator from material in the looping area.

The 24-CRS combination reel/straightener features a C-series straightener and 4R-series stock reel coupled together to conserve space and ease installation. The straightener is equipped with dial indicators, automatic central lubrication and a 75-ft./min. modulating drive with laser loop control sensor for smooth payout on demand. The stock reel includes hydraulic-powered mandrel expansion, a pneumatically actuated hold-down arm, a maximum coil-OD capacity of 72 in. and bolt-on coil-arm spacers to provide a wider ID range for the reel—from 13 to 21 in.
