AR Work-Instruction Workstation for Manufacturing-Related Processes
March 22, 2023Comments
LightGuide, Inc. provider of a projected augmented-reality (AR) work-instruction software platform for manual manufacturing processes, has introduced the LightGuide smartAR workstation. Designed to power a user’s core operational processes, from part picking to assembly to testing, inspection and training, the workstation connects to and communicates with any MES, PLC or SCADA environment, reportedly ensuring that data flow seamlessly across a factory network without latency. It captures real-time operational metrics, enabling full digital traceability for complex manufacturing processes.
The smartAR workstation employs LightGuide AR that uses digital-projection technology to overlay a virtual operating canvas onto any work surface. To simplify complex manual tasks, the AR interfaces with existing manufacturing equipment to deliver immersive, interactive visual work instructions, according to company officials.
The workstation includes pre-installed LightGuide AR software, a high-lumen industrial projector, high-resolution 3D camera, Windows 10 PC, dual touchscreen monitors, 30 by 60-in. work surface and extra outlets for connecting external devices. Options include an ergonomic adjusting bench that raises and lowers 18 in., bin-attachment rails that accommodate a variety of bin sizes and industrial locking caster wheels to provide mobility.
Use the smartAR workstation, offer LightGuide officials, to provide an immersive, interactive work experience, optimizing the performance and efficiency of the human operator.
