The Watermill Group, a private-investment firm, has announced the acquisition of Quality MetalCraft, Inc. (QMC). Based in Livonia, MI, QMC is a niche provider of engineered, metalformed assemblies, serving a range of transportation industries including automotive, aerospace and defense, heavy trucking, and construction. The company specializes in advanced prototyping, inhouse tooling, low- to medium-volume production and factory-assist services.

As part of The Watermill Group, according to company officials, QMC will expand its products and services, enhance offerings to aftermarket customers and drive operational improvements throughout the organization. Watermill advisor David Robinson will serve as chairman of QMC.

“We have been impressed with QMC’s ability to deliver its products quickly and with exceptional service levels, without compromising quality or precision,” says Steven E. Karol, Watermill managing partner and founder. “Our vision is to help QMC strategically expand these capabilities to enable its customers to bring better-designed, higher-quality and safer vehicles to market. We are looking forward to bringing Watermill’s strategy-driven approach to QMC to help it realize its full potential.”
