Wire Mesh Serves As a Dramatic Focal Feature in New Office Tower
May 5, 2020Comments

As a versatile material, architectural wire mesh comes in thousands of patterns. For this particular application, the design concept, developed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, called for a stunning wall covering to provide visual interest with a glowing effect. Therefore, the design team selected Banker Wire’s M22-80 woven-wire mesh pattern, which offers the ability to mix metal alloys to bring out a new dimension of texture and color characteristics.
For Frost Tower, Banker Wire provided a mesh combining stainless steel for the vertical wires and brass for the horizontal wires. To enhance the visual effect, custom mirror panels spanning 28 ft. high were placed several inches behind the wire mesh.
