Quick Trim Flap Discs Reduce Labor and Material Costs
September 1, 2011Comments
Abrasives manufacturer Norton, Worcester, MA, a brand of Saint-Gobain, has introduced two new Quick Trim flap discs for the metal-fabricating industry, the SG Blaze R980P and TwinStar Quick Trim. Both feature a new, flexible and easily trimmed plastic backing plate, allowing full use of the flaps. Operators can trim the backing to expose the flaps and optimize product life. This reduces materials costs by allowing 100 percent of the abrasive material to be consumed.
SG Blaze R980P Type 27 flap discs feature the latest generation ceramic-alumina abrasive grain and an improved supersize grinding aid to provide prolonged life on stainless steel, cobalt, chrome, Inconel, titanium and other difficult-to-grind materials. TwinStar Type 27 flap discs are engineered for light stock removal, blending and finishing, all in one application. Use them to finish mild-carbon steels and other ferrous materials.
