BTD Manufacturing, Detroit Lakes, MN, has installed a new Trumpf 5030 10-kW TruLaser fiber laser cutting machine at its facility in Lakeville, MN.

“Our focus is always on our customers and finding ways we can best serve them,” says BTD Mfg. president Paul Gintner. “Improvements like the addition of this new fiber laser allows us to produce more in less time while ensuring we maintain our commitment to providing the highest quality parts to our customers.”

The TruLaser’s cutting process allows it to double its rate of production when processing medium sheet thicknesses. In addition, the machine monitors the cutting process and automatically adapts parameters, resulting in optimal cutting efficiencies. It’s equipped with a CoolLine nozzle that mists water around the laser as it operates to mitigate heat from the surrounding material. This reportedly allows for cleaner and shorter sheet head entry to the part profiles and enables the machine to cut small contours.
