Five-Axis Fiber Laser Cutting Machine
October 30, 2023Comments
As seen at FABTECH 2023...MC Machinery Systems, Inc. debuted the FV-series five-axis fiber laser cutting machine, featuring a double-rail-gantry-motion system to enable high-speed, accurate cutting, and 4-g H-axis acceleration for high-speed height sensing. This combination reportedly delivers the fastest processing in Mitsubishi Electric’s history.
The FVs major components, including the oscillator and new platform X frame, all are made by Mitsubishi, meaning that Mitsubishi Laser is the single source for service and support. Other machine features include an open-architecture fixture table, allowing for simple access for cutting parts and loading/unloading of material, and magnetic crash protection, which reportedly provides faster recovery time, prevents the need for mechanical or optical alignment, and reduces the risk of drive-system damage.
The FV M800 control system reportedly improves processing speed and accuracy, with new control features including a customizable home page, expanded cutting-condition library and robust maintenance screens. And, the Mitsubishi Laser oscillator, according to company officials, offers maximum processing capability with back-reflection-beam isolation and beam-mode-stabilization technology.
