Methods 3D, Inc., a subsidiary of Methods Machine Tools, has opened additive-manufacturing laboratories in each of its seven technology centers. The labs—at its headquarters facility in Sudbury, MA, and in Detroit, MI, Charlotte, NC, Chicago, IL, Phoenix, AZ, and San Francisco and Los Angeles, CA—are outfitted with 3D printers designed for various processes including direct metal printing, select laser sintering, stereolithography and multi-jet printing. Also included is a full complement of post-processing equipment including EDM, CNC machining and inspection.
“Our new additive labs allow manufacturing professionals to consult with experts and explore ways to design and produce their components using the latest 3D technology integrated with conventional machining, automation and more,” says Methods 3D COO James Hanson. “Engineers have been bringing their application challenges to us and we have been working with them to implement this technology into their manufacturing operations.”
