Forming High-Strength Steels with Hydroforming |
With
sheet hydroforming presses, forming high-strength alloys is easy. Their
high forming pressures, intuitive controls, and net-shape part
production make them an ideal machine for stampers, but what exactly
goes into achieving good parts? This whitepaper dives into controlling
material flow, blank design, tooling materials, and more. |

U.S.
manufacturing activity picked up in May as demand for goods remains
strong, which could further allay fears of an imminent recession, but a
measure of factory employment contracted for the first time in nearly a
year. |

Management Perspectives: Focus on Time to Market for Waukesha Metal Products |
“Time to market is critical for our customers,” Chris Zuzick, vice president of Waukesha Metal Products, tells Brad Kuvin, editorial director of MetalForming, during Kuvin’s latest installment of monthly Q&A sessions with metal forming executives. “We must ensure that we’re not just performing tasks simply because it’s the way we’ve always done so. I constantly explain to the team that our customers expect more from us, and encourage them to step out of their traditional methods of doing things.” |

Make a Big Splash in Fluid Cost Savings! |
What’s wetter? Imagine you jump in a pool, whether you take a quick dunk or float around for a while, you are equally as wet as the moment you hit the water. The same is true with metal forming. There is a point when your stock is completely lubricated, and extra fluid is waste.
Using a Unist Uni-Roller® you can expect up to 50% fluid savings. The Uni-Roller® applies a clean and consistent coating to both sides your stock. The minimum fluid coating lubricates your stock as equally as a dunk tank, using only a fraction of the fluid. With even application the lubricant is always where it’s needed, protecting your die. Ready to experience a cleaner work environment and reduced downstream cleaning costs? |
