Red Bud Industries in Red Bud, IL, recently shipped and installed a high-speed slitting line to National Material of Mexico, a subsidiary of National Material L.P. in Monterrey, Mexico. The 0.250-in. by 72-in. line, is capable of processing advanced high-strength steel and other surface-critical material with tensile strengths to 250,000 psi.
The line incorporates Red Bud’s precision large arbor technology for slitting ultra-high-tensile materials. In addition, the system includes hands-free, pushbutton strip threading from the uncoiler to the recoiler, and rapid setup and changeover.
