Niles Expanded Metals, Niles, OH, has installed a Model 120 double-sheet detector from Roland Industrial Electronics, Cleveland, OH, on an automatic production press used to produce expanded-metal materials.

The control unit of the double-sheet detector can store as many as 255 programs, making it well-suited to the large variety of materials processed at Niles, including several grades of carbon steels, as well as magnetic and nonmagnetic stainless steels, aluminum and titanium alloys and various exotic alloys. Material thickness ranges from 0.10 to 8.0 mm.
