Since 2013, Schuler has operated Centro de Especialización Dual (CEDUAL), a vocational training center in Puebla, Mexico, with curriculum based on the German dual-education system combining theoretical and practical phases. Now, in partnership with Ibero University, Schuler has introduced a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Mechanical Engineering, in addition to the specialist letter (“Facharbeiterbrief”) issued by the German Chamber of Commerce Abroad, the body responsible for regulating and certifying dual training according to standards in Germany.

The degree consists of 352 credits—174 covered at the university and 178 at the Schuler site in Puebla. Over eight semesters, the curriculum will include technical drawing, parts processing, applied hydraulics, metrology, heat treatment and pneumatics, among other subjects.

“This new bachelor's degree allows graduates to be immersed from the first semesters in the workplace of Schuler Mexico,” says Lilia Vélez Iglesias, general academic director of Ibero University. Adds Schuler Mexico managing director José López: “Students will have comprehensive educational support from both institutions, which will provide them with machinery, facilities, and qualified faculty to achieve academic and professional excellence.”
