D&S Recognized for its Business-Education Partnership
October 1, 2010Comments Metal fabricator D&S Manufacturing, Black River Falls, WI, received the Wisconsin State Superintendent’s Business Friends of Education Award, recognizing its support of local technical-education programs. D&S has purchased welding equipment and annually provides welding gases and wire to the local high-school welding program; assisted in the purchase of laser-cutting equipment for the middle school; and provides steel for student projects.
D&S employees also work directly with technical-education teachers to provide instruction in math, basic machining and welding. Further, the company supports the First Lego League hands-on program designed to teach science and technology to children ages 9 to 14, and provides scholarships for the Steps for Girls summer program.
