QDC System Headed to Bombardier for Stretch-Forming Presses
October 1, 2008Comments
Atlas Technologies, Inc., Fenton, MI, has received an order from Bombardier for an innovative die-change system for stretch-forming presses. Slated for delivery in June 2009, the system will allow the firm to change dies as many as eight times per shift, significantly improving its ability to optimize production schedules and avoid having to run large batches and stockpile parts.
Plant safety and ergonomics will improve as well, as operators will no longer be required to walk on platforms over the press pit to manually change dies.
