Fab Software: Automated Quoting System and Updated Suite Version
October 25, 2024Comments
Lantek highlighted two sheet metal-software products: iQuoting, an automated quoting system, and Lantek v44, the company’s signature sheet metal-fabricating software suite.
Developed specifically for sheet metal companies, iQuoting, a software-as-a-service cloud app, offers the ability to standardize quoting processes, reduce recruitment costs, improve customer experience and leverage data to optimize efficiency, according to company officials. It integrates seamlessly with Lantek’s broader suite of software solutions, helping to ensure full traceability and accuracy from the initial quote to the final product.
Reportedly in only five steps, users can generate accurate
quotes any device with an Internet connection. Multiple calculation methods are
available to suit user preferences, and importing DXF files can result in quotes
generated within seconds. iQuoting offers multiple calculation methods to suit preferences
and allows users to import DXF or DWG files, assign secondary operations and
apply pricing strategy within minutes.
Lantek v44, discussed at FABTECH and formally unveiled at EuroBlech in Germany
the following week, features full connectivity via advanced technology and
artificial-intelligence-powered tools. The new software version (see video), offering
improvements in production and inventory management, reportedly enhances
real-time data flow, decision making and operational transparency.
Lantek Expert v44 introduces an advanced nesting strategy based on production-workflow parameters such as customers data, manufacturing routing and delivery dates. And, the new Import Assistant reportedly provides smarter DXF/DWG geometry cleaning and layers management to streamline data imports and increase efficiency.
Flex3D v44 optimizes tube and profile cutting with an improved engine to increase speed, precision and flexibility. Numerous Flex3D areas have been enhanced, such as support for management of advanced robotic cutting heads. Also in Lantek v44: MES (manufacturing execution system) Intralogistics, a new application designed for operators that improves management and tracking of raw-material supply from the warehouse to cutting workcenters. Another v44 feature, Machine Connectivity technology, links shop-floor machine signals directly with an MES, enabling real-time communication and providing precise control over both 2D and 3D operations.
And, the Assembly to Nesting 3D importer allows users to import and unfold common 3D CAD file formats for quoting or production. It offers a user-friendly interface, complete with dual previews (3D and 2D) of components, and previews unfolded geometry in real time. Additionally, it supports standard bevels recognition, automatically assigning corresponding technology when transferring part data to Lantek Expert.
