The Baker-Polito Administration in Massachusetts has launched a $10 million Workforce Training Fund Program (WTFP) comprising grants for training more than 6500 workers and adding an expected 1361 new jobs by 2021. Under the WTFP, precision metal former Larson Tool & Stamping Co., Attleboro, MA, received $171,500 of matching funds to train 61 workers and expects to create five new jobs by 2021.

Larson will use the funds to focus on lean and leadership coursework, which began in November 2019 with lean yellow-belt training and moved on to standard work and pull/flow. More recently, training has focused on waste elimination and problem solving.
