Robot Sales Jump, Fueled by Automotive
October 1, 2007Comments New orders received by North American-based robotics companies climbed by 39 percent in the first half of 2007, according to statistics from the Robotic Industries Association (RIA), Ann Arbor, MI. Through June, North American manufacturing companies ordered 9208 robots valued at $525.2 million. RIA traces the gains primarily to a 76-percent jump in orders to automotive manufacturers and their suppliers, even as non-automotive orders declined five percent.
