Motoman, Yaskawa Join Forces
October 1, 2010Motoman Inc. and Yaskawa Electric America, Inc. will combine to form Yaskawa America, Inc. Motoman, headquartered in Dayton, OH, becomes the Motoman Robotics Division of Yaskawa America; Yaskawa Electric America, headquartered in Waukegan, IL, becomes the Drives & Motion Division. Both divisions will continue to operate independently, retaining current management structures and operating in the same geographical regions currently in place.
The Motoman Robotics Division is the second largest robotics company in the Americas, with an installed base of approximately 30,000 units. Its products include robotic automation solutions for virtually every industry and application, including arc welding, assembly, coating, dispensing, material handling, material cutting, material removal and spot welding.
