Lightweight Wireless Control for Automation Equipment and Robots
November 1, 2011Sintesi SpA, an Italian supplier of mechatronic solutions for the robotics and automation industry, introduces the Shd (Sintesi HMI Device), a wireless handheld terminal that weighs less than 750 grams and measures just 22 by 11 by 4.6 cm. The terminal allows for control of different types of machines and robots, including those using the Siemens control platform. A 16-state selector coupled directly with four outputs to the machine allow the user to discriminate as many as 16 states. It also manages all functions and machine setup data. A user can operate the control autonomously for as long as 8 hr., from a distance of 50 m wirelessly via Bluetooth.
The Shd earned an IF Product Design Award 2011 for its design quality, ergonomic features, functionality and high level of innovation.
